Whereas She has brought an awareness of her personal dream of equal opportunity to, "The White House" Now, ThereforeI , Fernando Ferrer, President of the borough of the Bronx, do hereby proclaim that Apryl Rivera is the official SANTA CLAUS OF THE BRONX 1993 and urge my fellow residents to take appropriate recognition of this occasion.

Belated National Region 1 Commander, Purple Heart - Veteran Captain Tony Rivera, Jr. - Journal Chairman. a/k/a “Antonio”, volunteered for the U.S. Marines at 18. He served in Vietnam in the 60's, and was wounded in battled. Tony was decorated with various prestigious awards, including the Purple Heart. Later he joined the National Guard, retiring as Captain. Tony also worked for the NYS Dept. of Labor for 20 years. He reactivated the Military Order of the Purple Heart in NYC, known as Colon-Rivera Memorial Chapter #3. As National Region 1st commander he led 10 major fundraisers geared to help veterans and their families. Tony devoted 4 years to the National Publications committee. He sponsored, “adapt a class” in an impoverished school where he generated and donated funds for toys Christmas time. Inspired by his actions, as Ms. Santa Claus, I aim to follow in his footsteps and continue this endearing project.

Ms. Santa, Equal Opportunity in the North Pole - I am the liberated daughter, of my parents, (Mr. & Mrs. Claus), equal to my "father", in the working arena. Unfortunately, female Santa's continue to be unrecognized. Women keep dressing up as men, (beard & all), in order to execute, his more appealing job.
